Researcher Rita Guerra (CIS-Iscte) was featured on RTP1’s program Cautelar, where she presented findings from the CERV project kNOwHATE: kNOwing online HATE speech — knowledge + awareness = Tackling Hate.
In her intervention, she discussed the connection between online and offline contexts, emphasizing how peaks in online hate speech are associated with increases in hate-motivated incidents in the real world. She also highlighted the role of online social networks in fostering polarization.
